The Garden Classroom

THE GARDEN CLASSROOM IS OUR OUTDOOR SPACE, WHERE THE COMMUNITY CAN COME TOGETHER AND CONNECT, LEARN, WORK AND BE MINDFUL.

IT IS A SPACE THAT IS CONSTANTLY CHANGING DUE TO THE DIFFERENT GROUPS USING IT AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR AND FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES.

KEY ELEMENTS WILL BE GROWING SPACES, A COVERED WORK AREA, A REFLECTION AREA AND A SOCIAL SPACE WITH A PIZZA OVEN.

THESE SPACES ARE A VARIOUS STAGES OF COMPLETION SO CHECK BACK HERE TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE PROGRESS OF THEM.

The covered workspace is intended to protect people from the elements when they are working on different projects. These can be small woodwork projects, a lawnmower maintenance course, potting plants, any projects that groups might like to run in the outdoors.

A garden is a garden is a garden. Everyone will have their own ideas about what a garden should look like and about what should be in it. The space behind our Hub is intended to try out different ideas and to learn from others. Any produce that the garden could provide to our cafe kitchen is an added bonus.

At the end of the garden there is a unique space with amazing views. This part of our garden is established to allow people to withdraw from the everyday hustle and bustle, to take a break and to re-charge.

The pizza oven is part of the space for social connection. Sharing a meal with others helps us relax, make and strengthen connections, improve mental and emotional wellbeing and it can improve levels of self-esteem and lower levels of stress.
